1. Robot maids at your beck and call

Robots are poised to take over your household chores and other tasks. Thanks to home automation technology and smart devices, we can expect robot maids that do our cleaning within the day. A team of scientists at MIT developed a 'VirtualHome' system that can perform household activities like setting the table or making coffee. They do this by instructing 'artificial agents' or virtual characters to carry out the tasks themselves.

2. Toilets with analytical upgrades

Japan has been selling high-tech toilets for more than 30 years with features like calming music and heated seats. However, there is so much more to a smart toilet. Companies like Panasonic and Toi Labs are developing products that can analyze human waste for abnormalities. The smart toilets then use that data to detect a potential health problems, including blood and protein deficiencies.

3. Smart light switches

Wouldn't you like a smart switch that can also multitask? Light switches are no longer just for switching lights on and off; they can also be programmed to turn appliances on or off, set timers, alarm clocks etc. Smart light switches allow you to control your room's lighting with the use of voice commands like "ok Google/Alexa" & many more!  iDevice is one such company that combines a light switch with Amazon Alexa.  It works as a personal assistant to control, monitor, and schedule the power to your electronics throughout your home wherever you are with simple Siri voice commands.

4. Robot vacuum cleaners

iRobot's Roomba has definitely taken the concept of robot vacuum cleaners. A great example of this improvement is the Evovacs Deebot Ozmo). This smart self-control robot can switch between a vacuum and mop mode while moving over different floor surfaces. Furthermore, it also links to your smartphone via an app to notify you which rooms are clean.

5. Robots as a personal chef

Cooking can be a nightmare for many! But having a sous chef robot right in your home can do wonders! NVIDIA recently launched its 'kitchen manipulator' in 2019. This robot can track dirty dishes, open and close drawers, identify ingredients and make meals for you.

6. Mobile robot security guards

Companies like Design3 are prototyping smart robots that can keep tabs on your entire home.  These devices will have a wide variety of sensors to help them navigate around your home. The CARL robot guard can map out its surroundings and constantly monitor the situation inside the house. This means that you don't need to worry about security breaches or burglars any longer.
